TRAFFIC MANAGER
What you'd do
You will serve as a TRAFFIC MANAGER in the INSTALLATION AND LOGISTICS DIRECTORATE G-4 of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Major duties
You will actively engage in the development of transportation policies, procedures and methodology. You will review all correspondence and messages Initiated by Traffic Management personnel for accuracy and clarity of data being furnished prior to being reviewed by the Traffic Management Officer (TMO). You will monitor and control the expenditures of annually allocated funds used to procure commercial transportation and related services. You will analyze transportation characteristics, tariffs, rates, and charges, operating practices of the transportation service providers (TSP), TSPs' equipment, organization missions, and traffic patterns. You will provide advice, interpretation, and guidance on transportation matters which affect transportation procurement, supply source, and distribution methods.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience overseeing military freight, passenger travel, and household goods (HHG) movements, such as Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR); negotiating with commercial carriers, managing transportation budgets, and directing staff.
