About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Major duties
Identify long and short-term objectives for environmental project plans. Manage hazardous material and hazardous waste programs. Coordinate with high level staff regarding environmental projects. Maintain permits to ensure compliance. Provide guidance on developing procedures to correct violations.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing environmental hazardous material and hazardous waste programs; 2) Mentoring personnel on work and administrative matters; 3) Providing technical guidance on environmental policy and guidance; and 4) Implementing long range projects for the environmental hazardous material and hazardous waste programs. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Environmental Compliance and Preventive Action Environmental Document Preparation Environmental Project and Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
