ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION, COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Major duties
You will develop and maintain Command wide Hazardous Material (HM) Program goals and objectives. You will provide technical support and tasking to ensure HM requisitions, inventory, storage and safety requirements are properly managed and maintained. You will coordinate with the Materials Laboratory to resolve or clarify HM questions or issues for procurements or production use. You will provide technical support to all levels of management regarding compliance with hazardous material.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following: 1) Must possess demonstrated experience managing or coordinating a Hazardous Material or Hazardous Waste program within an industrial facility setting, overseeing the authorization, procurement, use, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials; (2) providing technical support/advice in regard to the compliance of hazardous materials; (3) managing the Hazardous Material Management Systems database, job-relevant database applications, or environmental/logistics information systems to organize data, conduct research, maintain program records, and ensure the accuracy/accountability of all hazardous material procurements; (4) performing program reviews of hazardous material operations to ensure compliance; and (5) making recommendations on safety and the handling, treating and disposing of hazardous materials and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations(e.g. EPA, DOT, OSHA) to ensure facility compliance, or RCRA.
