SUPERVISORY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, the Installation Emergency Management Officer of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.
Major duties
You will develop and sustain Emergency Management Plans for the installation. You will coordinate exercising of Incident Action Plans under simulated emergency conditions and execution of these plans under emergency conditions. You will create installation level Incident Action Plans in accordance with National Incident Management Systems. You will train emergency management personnel and first responders in appropriate preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery tasks.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Continuing analysis of hazards and vulnerabilities to determine types of threats and the appropriate responses to safeguard critical infrastructure, mission requirements and personnel safety; 2) Coordinating emergency management base operation support for subordinate and/or tenant activities; 3) Coordinating and providing communications capabilities between regional headquarters and emergency personnel at the installation level; 4) Interfacing with customers, service providers, and sponsors that interact in any way with the Naval Support Activity as a representative of the Installation Public Safety Program. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position
