What you'd do

This position is located under the direction of the Deputy State Director (DSD) to support a state in evaluating RD programs and administrative operations.

Major duties

The trainee is expected to follow direction and perform as expected as well as seek out both direction when needed and additional training opportunities as knowledge and experiences increase on the job. Conducts routine quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established agency goals and objectives. Develops analyses and evaluates established programs, policies, procedures, associated goals and objectives, and mission operations. The incumbent reports to the supervisor, or a senior staff member, who provides specific information concerning items such as limitations and deadlines and suggested work methods.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. For the GS-07 Grade Level : Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience assisting with providing oversight for a full range of administrative and business management functions in support of the organizations mission, including but not limited to, purchasing, human resources, travel, fleet, leasing and personal property, Freedom of Information Act requests, records management, and information system accesses; participates in conducting studies of organizational efficiency; providing basic recommendations for improving methods/process; OR Completion of one full academic year of graduate education OR Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA)* . Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
