INVESTIGATOR
What you'd do
You will serve as a Investigator in the OPNAV N1/Personnel, Manpower and Training of FIT/COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT.
Major duties
You will identify a strategy and need for gathering, organizing, and maintaining information or information management systems. You will convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. You will apply knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations as they apply to extravagant, careless, or needless expenditure of government funds or the consumption or misuse of government property or resources. You will identify and analyze problems, weigh relevance and accuracy of information, evaluate alternate perspectives/solutions, and make timely and effective recommendations. You will interpret technical material, rules, regulations, and instructions to apply them to specific situations.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to U.S. programs and operations; 2) Using computer software programs to include Microsoft Office products; 3) Conducting interviews with subjects and witnesses that may be unreceptive or uncooperative; 4) Utilizing systems to combat fraud, waste, abuse, reprisal, mismanagement, and related improprieties; and 5) Adhering to Titles 5, 10, and 18 of U.S. Code and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, as well as the Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, and Inspector General Act.
