What you'd do

You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Public Affairs Office of NAVAL ACADEMY.

Major duties

You will develop, plan and support community engagement initiatives and outreach programs with local, regional and national audiences. You will assist with developing brand guidance, messaging standards and visual identity recommendations. You will conduct audience and market analyses to identify public perception, trend, communication influencing recruiting and stakeholder engagement. You will assist with creating briefing materials, campaign themes, social media guidance, presentations and speeches. You will coordinate opportunities to engage with the community involving midshipmen, faculty, staff and leadership.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding institutional branding initiatives and strategies; 2) developing and refining institutional messaging frameworks, brand voice, positioning guidance, and strategic communication themes; 3) managing community outreach and engagement initiatives; and 4) supporting strategic communication campaigns.
