What you'd do
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Clear Space Force Station, Alaska. Must be neat, well-groomed, and dependable. Must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with management, co-workers, and patrons. Must be able to adhere to all safety, security, fire, and health standards. This is a flexible position, which means there are 0 guaranteed hours and is not eligible for benefits.
Major duties
Carries supplies and equipment such as liquors, fruit, ice, glasses, linens and silver ware from storage areas to the bar. Slices and peels fruit. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keep the work area clean and neat. Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers. Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers. Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars. carries debris to waste containers. May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: No previous training or experience required. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, and be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
