What you'd do
About the Position: Serves as Public Affairs Specialist for the 599th Transportation Brigade and its subordinate activities. Plans, organizes, and conducts the command information, public information, and community relations programs.
Major duties
Manage Brigade social media platforms, public website content, and SharePoint communications. Develop communication plans for major exercises, deployments, and operational activities. Advise senior leadership on public affairs policies, communication strategies, and media engagement. Provide photographic support for command activities and public affairs products. Coordinate media interviews, photography opportunities, and coverage of Brigade operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and executing communication programs; preparing news releases, articles, briefings, talking points, and digital media content; coordinating media relations and community outreach; and applying communication principles, policies, and procedures to promote organizational missions and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
