What you'd do

This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia.This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Major duties

Develop/monitor the execution of facility maintenance and sustainment annual budget for utilities, facility support services, File Server Resource Manager (FSRM), refuse and hazardous materials collections, and real property purchases (lifecycle). Serve as WHCA liaison for recurring and non-recurring services and studies and reports to host organizations, such as 11th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES), 11th Contracting Squadron (CONS), and others. Formulate facility and space policy and facility Property Operation and Maintenance (POMs) for WHCA in accordance with Installation Facility Standards (IFS), identifying program emphasis and recommending operating guidelines. Provide oversight for the execution of facilities/safety activities, and directs a wide range of program and/or support areas for the Facilities Management Division.

What you need to qualify

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Experience that provided a knowledge of the practices and procedures related to property management, maintenance, materials requirements, and building operation and repair. This experience may have been gained in work such as budget or report preparation, maintenance of property and financial records, or trades or crafts work requiring technical knowledge or judgment. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as directing the planning, development, and execution of all facilities-related work, major infrastructure upgrades and the maintenance of existing facilities. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
