What you'd do
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity.
Major duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Draft, revise, and edit DoD level issuances and guidance based on senior leadership direction for staffing, review, and issue by DoW leadership. Research and provide information and recommendations with minimal oversight in response to questions from NAF Employees, DoW NAF employers, and DoW leadership involving NAF Human Resources. Attend, participate in, and lead meetings and working groups to provide information and technical expertise regarding NAF Human Resources policies and practices. Independently review and analyze emerging laws and regulations to determine potential applicability to NAF HR operations and functions. Review and interpret data related to NAF HR Programs and operations and utilize results to recommend updates to leadership regarding policies and guidance.
What you need to qualify
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Work experience showing performance of duties and knowledge in more than one specialized area of Human Resources. Experience with Non-appropriated (NAF) Human Resources is preferred. Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze laws, regulations and policies within the Human Resources function. Experience researching answers to complex HR issues and presenting findings, and recommendations to senior management officials Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
