This vacancy is for a GS-2010-7/9, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Surface Forces Logistics Center, Supply Branch, Glen Burnie, MD.
Major duties
You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for performing inventory management work requiring application of system-wide knowledge of supply programs and operations.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Determining and maintaining inventory stock levels to ensure effective Coast Guard supply support and efficient utilization of appropriate funds. Establishing and procuring new supply items to support mission-essential operational requirements. Evaluating repair and procurement requirements by analyzing casualty data, emergency needs, projected failures, usage trends, and equipment dropout rates. Planning and managing long-range inventory requirements by considering provisioning needs, project programming, new construction initiatives, operational demands, and deployment schedules. Managing and monitoring the return, repair, and scheduling of Mandatory Turn-In (MTI) material with Coast Guard repair facilities, depots, stocking points, and commercial contractors to ensure timely supply support. What you need to qualify
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience may include: 1) experience determining and maintaining inventory stock levels; 2) experience establishing and procuring new supply items; 3) experience evaluating repair and procurement requirements; 4) experience planning and monitoring inventory management activities; 5) experience coordinating the return, repair, and tracking of reparable or mandatory turn-in materials. OR Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education, and a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at the GS-09 grade level. To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience may include: 1) experience assisting with maintaining inventory stock levels; 2) experience processing procurement actions; 3) experience reviewing supply and repair requests; 4) experience maintaining inventory and supply records; 5) experience coordinating the return and repair of reparable or mandatory turn-in materials. OR 4-year bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at the GS-07 grade level.
