About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
Major duties
Assist higher graded security specialists in carrying out well-defined, structured tasks in support of established security programs. Evaluate position sensitivity to ensure justification for requests of security clearances are valid for the current duty assignment. Manage and operate the Watervliet Access Background Check System, ensuring the system is maintained and operational for day-to-day operations, in accordance with applicable regulations and directives. Work in the Visitor Control Center (VCC), controlling installation access, operating and performing research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC/NCCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws. Perform basic office automation tasks.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conduct security screening of personnel requesting access through a visitor center; 2) process security information through use of various databases and computer programs; and 3) maintain records for installation access. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
