SUPERVISORY MATERIALS EXAMINER & IDENTIFIER
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MATERIALS EXAMINER & IDENTIFIER in the WAREHOUSE, TRANSPORTATION, AND DISTRIBUTION BRANCH, SUPPLY DIVISION, COMMAND SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Major duties
You will perform a full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities carrying out the full spectrum of warehousing, shipping and receiving programs. You will provide advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on work and administrative matters. You will determine property disposition by identifying completeness of items missing components, evaluating repair costs and assigning appropriate condition codes. You will unpack boxes, crates, and cartons which may contain specialized equipment, commodities, heavy equipment, or general use items from manufacturing sources.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: Experience with Federal and carrier regulations, published classification guides, rate tariffs, agreements, and contracts. Experience in determining the legally applicable and most economical rates and routes for freight shipments across various modes of transportation (ocean, air, ground). Classifying commodities to be shipped and applying the correct tariffs and routings. Analyze shipping documentation (bills of lading, manifests) and related information to ensure accuracy and compliance. A wide range of warehouse, distribution and disposal methods and procedures managing worldwide shipping operations and comprehensive storage facilities.
