This vacancy is for a GS-2003-9, Supply Mgmt Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SFLC ASSET LOGISTICS DIVISION -SFLC-ALD in BALTIMORE, Maryland.
Major duties
You will serve as a Supply Mgmt Specialist and be responsible for planning, leading, and conducting physical inventory audits, inventory reconciliations, and location accuracy reviews for government property and equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Lead and conduct physical inventory audits of operating materials, supplies, property, plant, and equipment to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability. Direct inventory reconciliation efforts by research discrepancies, validating inventory records, and recommending inventory adjustments for approval. Perform location accuracy audits, spot checks, and inventory validation of controlled, sensitive, and high value assets in compliance with DHS and U.S. Coast Guard policies. Identify root causes of inventory variances and develop short- and long-term process improvement recommendations to strengthen inventory management and logistics operations. What you need to qualify
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis: Experience leading and conducting physical inventory audits of operating materials, supplies, property, plant, and equipment to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability. Experience researching, analyzing, and reconciling inventory discrepancies, preparing inventory adjustments, and documenting corrective actions. Experience performing inventory validation, location accuracy audits, and spot checks of controlled, sensitive, and high-value government assets. Experience identifying causes of inventory variances and developing recommendations to improve inventory controls, accuracy, and logistics operations.
