What you'd do

About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Services Division (ASD) Chief within the Directorate of Human Resources for U.S. Army Garrison - Fort McCoy. Responsible for the oversight and management of a comprehensive portfolio of installation level information management (IM) services. These include records management (RM), official mail management, Privacy Act (PA), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the protection of personally identifiable information (PII), congressional reporting. .

Major duties

Supervises and provides technical guidance and direction to civilian staff assigned within the Administrative Services Division. Serves as the official mail manager (OMM) for the installation and has full oversight of the official postal center (OPC) program. Completes a variety of complex staff actions that require coordination with key stakeholders, legal counsel, and senior leadership to properly analyze publication requests across a diverse set of functional areas. Serves as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) Officer and administers the programs at the installation level. Promotes compliance with records management using a variety of methods to include conferences, meetings, work groups, taskers, and file clean-up campaigns. Develops, executes, and amends policies and/or procedures to ensure the currency of the program with DoD and United States Postal Service (USPS) standards. Reviews and analyzes responsive documents to ensure they align with current federal laws and established Department of Defense (DoD) policies.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) administering installation-wide Information Management programs, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act operations; and 2) managing full-lifecycle records management programs, developing policies, and conducting audits; and 3) conducting installation-level studies and delivering training to improve administrative processes, as well as managing official mail operations in compliance with DoD and USPS standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
