About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at Army Health Clinic Moncrief located in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Major duties
Analyzes, test, balances, and replaces projects for all facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Provides oversight of facility operational readiness. Initiates replacement projects for critical real property systems. Screens medical equipment requests to determine utility compatibility and to plan infrastructure upgrades. Advises on facility concerns and identify complex engineering technical issues, elevating to Engineer, when needed. Writes statement of work and prepare packages for validation. Develop and provide detailed budgetary data to support long-range planning and maintenance activities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Engineering Technician: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring utility systems for preventive maintenance, performing quality assurance inspections of engineering work projects, and preparing designs, specifications or cost estimates for assigned systems in a medical facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
