What you'd do

You will serve as a Manager (Deputy Department Head) in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Deputy Department (WD), Warfighter Defense & Systems Integration Department (W) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

Major duties

You will act as the Warfighter Defense and Systems Integration Department Head’s principal advisor for the EOD mission, responsible for translating strategic goals into daily operations that deliver decisive advantages to the Joint EOD Force. You will direct the EOD Technology Center's core functions, including foreign materiel exploitation; ordnance disassembly for development and publication of authoritative EOD procedures; and the integration of in-house and private sector innovation. You will provide input and consultation on strategic plans and develop metrics and controls to properly allocate resources to manage and align operations. You will apply broad, expert-level knowledge of scientific and engineering disciplines as they apply to the development and evaluation of EOD systems, information, tools, and counter-threat technologies. You will guide complex technical programs from concept through fielding, and oversee specialized mission infrastructure to deliver decisive warfighting advantages.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing strategic leadership and technical guidance for an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) organization to develop strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders (e.g., TYCOM, OPNAV, or CCMDs), guide technical programs (e.g., Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and translate strategic goals into daily operations for the advancement of EOD mission and delivering warfighting advantages to the Joint EOD Force.
