This vacancy is for a GS-0303-7, Program Support Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, TRACEN PETALUMA FAC ENG - STRUCTURES in PETALUMA, California.

Major duties

You will serve as a Program Support Assistant and be responsible for providing administrative and technical work in support of facilities maintenance activities. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Conducting data entry and retrieval, report preparation, and statistical analysis for facilities maintenance utilizing computer software. Updating database to add, remove, revise, or replace equipment information and establishing or modifying preventive maintenance requirements and due dates and entering work order completion data, reviewing for clarity and logical sequence of events. Serving as a liaison between users and Shore Asset Management (SAM) Technical Support. Providing customer service by screening telephone calls and visitor requests, and answering procedural questions Entering facility and housing work requests into computer software. Maintaining contact with maintenance technicians to relay, receive, and clarify information. Coordinating base access for contracted personnel. What you need to qualify

To qualify at the GS-7 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Utilizing various office automation systems including Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel and computerized database management software to track equipment information, modify preventive maintenance repairs and service requests, enter and retrieve data, manage files, prepare reports or perform statistical analysis. Prioritizing multiple tasks, managing records, scheduling meetings, screening calls and visitor requests, responding to correspondence; Processing, routing, and tracking facility related invoices or work requests. Responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person questions with clear, accurate information regarding policies or procedures.
