What you'd do

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Combat Systems Readiness Division of NAVSURFWARCENACT DAM NECK VA.

Major duties

You will learn how to provide a broad range of Business and Financial Management services in financial management, budgeting, business process reengineering, procurement, and other areas as assigned. You will work across multiple Division efforts and with multiple sponsor commands. You will show the ability to learn how to facilitate budget development and submission, monitor the expenditure of direct funds, and assign funds to network activities based on the project's budget. You will coordinate the acceptance/rejection of funding documents, manage government planned labor and nonlabor in comparison to actual costs, and initiate funding to government and contractor agencies for services and materials. You will coordinate fiscal year close-out and start-up, keep up-to-date with changes and revisions in the Division and DoD financial management policies and procedures, and conduct special analytical studies using automated data management systems. You will learn to provide advice, analyzed recommendations and assistance to Program Management, Line Management, Portfolio Manager, and Sponsors. You will develop a thorough knowledge of direct cite and reimbursable funding constructs. You will develop and present summary reports, conduct trend analysis, and develop budget projections.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-02 (GS-05 through GS-08 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying basic analytical and evaluative techniques and/or statistical methods for analyzing and measuring financial data in order to formulate appropriate recommendations.
