What you'd do

This position is located in the Department of the Chief Executive Officer, Immediate Office in Washington, DC. The Executive Immediate Office implements the vision, goals, and strategic plans to advance AmeriCorps' mission and programs. The Department performs critical functions including managing government relations and the administration's priorities; communicating with internal and external audiences; performing enterprise-level planning; and leading cross agency initiatives.

Major duties

The Management and Program Analyst provides analytical, project management, programmatic, and administrative support to the Executive Immediate Office by coordinating executive initiatives, monitoring cross-functional projects, conducting research and analysis, and preparing executive communications and briefing materials. The incumbent coordinates information among program offices, tracks executive priorities and action items, supports strategic planning activities, and assists with congressional and intergovernmental coordination to facilitate informed executive decision-making. As a Management and Program Analyst, you will: Coordinate Executive Immediate Office projects, agency-wide initiatives, special projects, and working groups by planning and monitoring assignments, developing schedules, tracking milestones and action items, coordinating meetings and stakeholder engagement, and facilitating collaboration across program offices. Support strategic planning and executive initiatives by conducting research, collecting and analyzing information, coordinating input from program offices, preparing reports and briefing materials, monitoring progress toward organizational objectives, and identifying issues and recommendations for management consideration. Support congressional and intergovernmental activities by coordinating communications and responses to inquiries; preparing correspondence, briefing materials, and background information; and supporting hearings, briefings, meetings, site visits, and other engagements with congressional offices, elected officials, and governmental stakeholders. Coordinate agency responses, notifications, and communications for congressional offices and other external stakeholders, including requests for technical assistance on draft legislation and other matters, and coordinate internal review, clearance, and distribution of communication materials. Provide executive support to the Chief of Staff and Executive Immediate Office through project coordination, research and analysis, tracking executive priorities, and preparing executive reports, plans, policies, guidance, briefing materials, memoranda, and other communications.

What you need to qualify

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience performing the following responsibilities: Coordinating projects, programs, or organizational initiatives involving multiple assignments, stakeholders, deadlines, or action items, including coordinating information and activities across internal offices and/or external stakeholders; Conducting research, gathering and analyzing information, and preparing reports, briefing materials, correspondence, or other written products to support management decision-making; and Providing programmatic, administrative, or analytical support to management or senior-level officials in carrying out organizational priorities or initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
