What you'd do

You will serve as the Deputy Assistant Public Works Officer for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and is part of the Public Works Department (PWD) Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH) of NAVAL STATION. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as one of the following job series: 0801 / 0810 / 0830/ 0850 / 0808 . A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Major duties

You will coordinate project requirements and specifications with various activities to complete facility projects You will review construction project parameters (e.g., integration, scope, time, cost, quality, communication, procurement, risk management) to recommend changes that will improve the overall project results. You will brief management and staff to clarify planning and construction plans You will discuss technical matters relating to test development and process improvement to sponsors, program office, fleet representatives, and contractors. You will mentor employees in the areas of engineering to ensure future capability You will mentor staff in technical proficiency in design engineering and construction to assist in work completion.

What you need to qualify

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801/0810/0830/0850 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
