About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at INSCOM National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Major duties
Supervises a Branch in the Asia-Identity Intelligence, and is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, reviewing and evaluating the work of an organization responsible for the production of finished intelligence on regional topics. Develops specific policies and procedures and program submissions to meet mission requirements. Briefs Army, DOD intelligence community and participating agencies' officials on organization mission and production. Assigns work based on overall program objectives, priorities, skills and manpower availability. Reviews operations, evaluates program effectiveness by review of reports, discussion with subordinates and consultation with customers serviced. Maintains continuous contact with functional counterparts to ensure awareness of new policies, regulations and state-of-the-art developments affecting the programs supervised.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience planning and executing intelligence analysis on foreign state and/or non-state ground forces, systems, and/or operating environments; planning and implementing principles, concepts, and methodologies to develop major program initiatives, drive intelligence collections, and/or apply analytical tradecraft; and delivering analytic findings, in both verbal and written form, to a wide range of audiences. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Customer Service Decisiveness Flexibility Interpersonal Skills Problem Solving Resilience Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
