INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER
What you'd do
You will serve as either a MATERIALS ENGINEER, MECHANICAL ENGINEER, ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, ELECTRONICS ENGINEER, or CHEMICAL ENGINEER as the NAVAIR Battery Team Lead in the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, PROPULSION AND POWER DEPARTMENT, POWER AND ENERGY DIVISION, ACQUISITION ELECTRICAL POWER BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Major duties
You will develop and maintain the tri-service battery and high energy storage systems technology roadmap and provide critical path systems analysis for competency technology areas. You will maintain liaison with top engineering executives, lead scientific personnel and technical experts in industry and make policy statements as appropriate to represent at technical, governmental, inter-national and industrial organizations. You will review and analyze requirements to conceive, present and defend programs, obtain funding support and initiate assignments/work units/contracts subject to time and resources constraints and other administrative controls. You will propose, monitor and evaluate exploratory and advanced development activity to establish the value of new battery and high energy storage technology. You will establish, support and justify funding required by the Power and Energy Division to fully utilize the Propulsion Systems Evaluation Facility (PSEF) Battery Laboratory.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Executing technical and leadership responsibilities for technology development programs; 2) Developing and maintaining technology roadmaps; 3) Performing systems analysis; 4) Managing all phases of the acquisition life cycle from proposal to execution, including budget and schedule tracking; and 5) Analyzing organizational requirements to formulate and implement new programs and policies.
