What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING & PLANNING DEPARTMENT, PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will participate in the long-range and short-range planning for Code projects involved with the Test performance, test planning, and production support function. You will ensure that all receive fully equal opportunity and treatment in placement, promotion, details, reassignments, training, and similar actions. You will fully support the Equal Employment Opportunity Program. You will serve as an expert in the details of overhaul, modification, testing and operations of approximately 100 complex shipboard systems.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specilaized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience identifying, coordinating, and tracking ship condition requirements, actions, and status. Experience qualifying production support, test planning and test performance personnel. Experience preparing, maintaining, and administering the Shipyard Work and Test Manual. Experience scheduling and coordinating the accomplishments of projects and/or operations through various Test Planning Sections. Experience providing technical and administrative direction for the work activities of engineering and technicians.
