Pharmacist (Transitional Care Pharmacist)

Major duties
Serves as the Transitional care Pharmacist for Bureau of Prisons' (BOP) inmates transitioning from correctional institutions to Residential Reentry Centers (RRC) and/or Home Confinement (HC). Responsible for the accurate and timely management, development, organization, and implementation of programs and procedures necessary to ensure adequate medically necessary healthcare is available for community designated inmates. Responsible for regular communication with community contract providers, RRC personnel, RRC residents, BOP physicians and healthcare providers, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) providers and Contracting Officer Representatives (COR), Regional Community Treatment Coordinators, and Community Treatment Service (CTS) providers, and BOP pharmacy fill site staff to ensure all aspects of community based medically necessary healthcare is appropriately available and timely. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis.
What you need to qualify
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Basic Requirements: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree. AND Licensure: Applicants also must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: ALL applicants MUST upload proof of current, active and unrestricted license for verification at the time you apply. AND Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. NOTE: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied. All qualified referred candidates will undergo a credentialing process prior to employment with the Bureau of Prisons. This process includes validation of examinations, licensure, education, internship and residency.
