This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a HR ASST (MILITARY), Position Description Number PDD2014000 , and is part of the SC MILPO, South Carolina Army National Guard.

Major duties

This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as the final reviewer and procedural authority of personnel actions submitted to the MILPO by lower echelons. Work is to be performed in one or more of the following work areas: Personnel Systems Management, Officer or Enlisted Personnel Management (OPM, EPM), Retirement Points Accounting Management (RPAM), Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP), Montgomery G.I. Bill, Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES), Incapacitation Pay (INCAP), Mobilization (MOB)/Demobilization (DEMOB), TRICARE, Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Line of Duty (LOD) investigations, and Funeral Honors/Casualty Assistance. Work in this series includes clerical and administrative support positions performing clerical, assistant, or technical work which requires knowledge of the procedures, established guidelines, and techniques involved in carrying out the work of the organization.

What you need to qualify

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 & 2 Only. First Area: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Second Area: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Third Area: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
