What you'd do
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the TECHNICAL DIVISION (SP20) / REENTRY SYSTEMS BRANCH (SP28) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-4 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15..
Major duties
You will be responsible for the development of next-generation thermal protection materials, and coordinating to establish the production capacity for the delivery of these materials. You will lead Aeroshell Integrated Product Team efforts for future reentry body programs of record. You will collaborate with interagency partners, military branches, and defense contractors to develop project requirements, budgets, and plans. You will formulate and execute requirements definition and budgetary planning necessary to support thermal protection material development activities. You will direct and participate in reviews of progress and/or issues with stakeholders related to thermal protection material development and testing.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the basic education requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate: Managing the design, development, and flight-testing of reentry and nuclear delivery systems, including formulating technical requirements, administering program budgets, and collaborating with interagency and international stakeholders.
