About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Major duties

Perform regular and modified salad preparation tasks such as making fruit and vegetable salads. Prepare limited breakfast foods that will involve grilling or frying. Perform patient tray service duties to include the assembly of patient trays. Set up and replenishing the salad bar in accordance with established procedures. Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, which utilizes gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Arrange food items for regular and modified diets. Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Cook without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties such as preparing and cooking a variety of simple menu items that require little or no processing. I can set up and serve hot and/or cold food on cafeteria and patient tray lines adhering to portion control. I can follow safety and sanitation procedures in food handling and in cleanup. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
