What you'd do

You will serve as a HR SPEC (HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT/PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT) in the WESTERN RECRUIT REGION of RECRUIT TRAINING REGIMENT. Before applying, you're encouraged to learn more about federal human resources careers by visiting the HR Career Compass at: www.OPM.gov/HRCareerCompass.

Major duties

You will advise all stakeholders on leadership development, upward mobility, career planning, and core competency enhancement. You will manage the Command-Sponsored training budget, ensuring the timely allocation and full utilization of quarterly funds. You will monitor compliance with mandatory supervisory and employee training. You will guides managers on all stages of the performance lifecycle: planning, monitoring, developing, rewarding, and formal rating. You will administer the employee appraisal program, ensuring command-wide compliance with regulatory deadlines for plan issuances, mid-year reviews, and final evaluations. You will manage the civilian Employee Recognition Program for MCRD-SD/WRR. You will implement and administers a comprehensive workforce development program focused on developmental opportunities and training initiatives.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and administering workforce development programs, supporting employee development, and assessing training needs to identify organizational skill gaps and priorities; advising managers throughout the performance lifecycle, and developing policies and guidance for performance plans, evaluations, and corrective counseling.
