Management and Program Analyst
What you'd do
Incumbent serves as a Management and Program Analyst in the Programs Branch of Foundational Business of the Flight Standards Service (FS), working in multiple programs in the branch. Specific assignments will be related but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health, Emergency Management, Foreign Travel, Mobility Devices, 110A Program, and FS Awards.
Major duties
Within the program area, the incumbent performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.Applies experience and detailed knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques and/or management andorganizational techniques and procedures to develop communications, prepare reports, and edit/write documents applicable to the assigned program area. Duties include, but are not limited to: Works cooperatively and productively as a member of a team consisting of diverse groups of people or individuals. Use computer-based tools for planning and management of programmatic data to enhance performance measurement analysis, evaluation, and preparation of reports, including graphics (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Works with management and staff to research and develop various communication and outreach venues. Communicate clear and concise information, consistent with the targeted audience. Prepare and distribute needed reports and briefings to management and staff. Conducts analysis and coordinates with management and staff across FS to ensure policies programs/projects adhere to agency policies. Work systematically to gather and interpret information to respond to program inquiries in reference to the FS procedures and processes. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow some discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es). Typically receives guidance on selecting approaches from a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional when guidelines are not available or applicable. Work is reviewed during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities. Work supports activities of the organizational unit and may affect project/program objectives for the major subdivision and the LOB/SO.
What you need to qualify
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5-9 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position: Experience assisting in gathering and analyzing data and information to develop reports, agendas, minutes, or other documents (e.g., such as memos, emails, guidance) for use by management; experience assisting in the development of general and technical information and content to communicate to stakeholders; analyzing and assembling information and data for briefings.
