Supervisory Die Manufacturing Specialist
What you'd do
This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Plant Manager. As a Supervisory Die Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of dies, die collars and master tooling required in producing coinage and medals at all U.S. Mint facilities. This position has a direct impact on the agencies national mission which depends on the die and collars this division produces in order to manufacture coinage for the nation.
Major duties
As a Supervisory Die Manufacturing Specialist, you will: Be responsible for the overall operation of the Die Manufacturing Division that makes working tools and dies for all United States Mints for the production of domestic or foreign coinage. Coordinate customer priorities, needs, and modifies production and delivery schedules, accordingly for all U.S. Mints. Develop standards for equipment, material, workflow and plans for expansion of operations or adapts new operations for special needs. Be responsible for the security of all dies, tooling and materials in the division, ensuring that proper records are maintained for the accountability of inventory.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes: Supervising production operations, including directing work, evaluating performance, resolving personnel issues, and developing staff. Allocating and scheduling personnel, equipment, and other resources to meet production schedules and organizational priorities. Applying continuous improvement principles, such as Lean Manufacturing or similar process improvement methodologies, to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
