What you'd do
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center at JBSA Fort Sam Houston located in San Antonio, TX. This is a Regular Full-Time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a Regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Major duties
Prepares sports and recreation fields for intramural sports and other fitness center sponsored sports/recreation events. This will include mowing, trimming, chalking, raking, dragging, or preparation activities. All needed equipment will be examined to ensure it is in good working order before placing in the event set up area. Set-up, tear-down, and safely store equipment for all requested events. Powered and non-powered equipment will be used to maintain field turf and non-turf surfaces. Minor repairs to field maintenance equipment and fitness machines will be required. Coordinates major repairs through warranties or qualified repair companies. May be required to supplement fitness center staff with verification of patron eligibility, cleaning, and repair/maintenance of fitness equipment. May serve as the Vehicle Control Officer. Qualifying Experience: Education or experience in the use of equipment used in common intramural programs; education or experience that enables safe and effective use maintenance and repair of field and turf equipment; and ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally are required. Recreational background in fitness/ leisure activities is desired.
