What you'd do

Serves as a Branch Manager under the Employee Relations Division (AHL-100). This announcement is open for Performance Management (AHL-120). This position will be subject to the AHR reorganization and duties may be subject to change.

Major duties

Branch Manager, Performance Management (AHL-120): Serves as the Performance Management Branch Manager. Responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the development, governance, administration, and execution of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) agency-wide performance management program. Manages the end-to-end program lifecycle, including establishing program content, setting governance frameworks, and managing organizational timelines for more than 45,000 employees. Leads the development and implementation of performance management policies, programs, and processes across the agency. Advises management on performance management strategies, defensible disciplinary actions, and Opportunity to Demonstrate Performance (ODPs) to promote accountability, improve employee performance, and protect the agency's operational and organizational interests.

What you need to qualify

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE INCLUDES: Experience leading complex, agency-wide performance management programs; developing and implementing performance management policies, programs, and processes; establishing governance and program requirements; advising senior leaders and managers on performance management, employee accountability, disciplinary actions, and Opportunity to Demonstrate Performance (ODP); evaluating complex performance-related cases; applying applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidance; and resolving complex performance management issues to support organizational effectiveness and operational objectives. You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history. Errors or omissions may impact your rating or may result in you not being considered.
