About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

Review and process claims for medical and dental insurance billing. Contact beneficiaries and/or external payers to resolve coverage issues. Provide guidance to patients and staff on topics such as insurance policies, billing requirements and the department’s internal processes. Follow-up and respond to unsatisfactory third party response inquiries such as claim denials, inadequate payment or non-response to bill to ensure maximum reimbursement to the hospital. Assist the department’s leadership with process improvement and performance initiatives.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing patient medical bills for discrepancies, verifying patients health insurance coverage using online insurance databases, and managing account receivables for patient accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
