What you'd do

Supervisory Administrative Officer positions are assigned to the Primary Care Service and Outpatient Clinics under the Office of the Associate Director. Conducting process improvement initiatives and lean management techniques. Serves as the principal advisor to personnel on administrative management program issues. Provides strategic planning and resource allocation. Designs and implements policies and procedures to manage administrative and personnel related functions. Participate in meetings.

Major duties

Include but not limited to: Develops, plans, issues, and implements procedures to comply with directives concerning administrative matters. Analyzes, evaluates problems, makes recommendations, devises solutions to systems administration, training management, publication management, and data management. Consults with respective staff and/or personnel on progress in taking corrective action. Provides full staff assistance on administrative matters. Conduct analytical studies on operational processes, issue topics, or related special projects. Serves as the principal advisor to personnel on administrative management program issues. Participate in the planning for budgeting needs and financial management. Sets standards for and evaluates subordinates, and advises, counsels or instructs individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Serves as the lead for all lease modifications and supplemental agreements. Communicating with all stakeholders and acts as the leadership point of contact. What you need to qualify

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/25/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. In addition to meeting the Time-In-Grade Requirement you must meet the Minimum Qualification Requirement below. Minimum Qualification Requirement: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of GS-09 level specialized experience directly related to this position within the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Advises and coordinates administrative policies, programs, and operations. Planning, directing, supervising, and coordinating administrative services. Provides strategic planning and resource allocation. Conducts process improvement initiatives and lean management techniques. Planning, statistical measurement, data analysis, and report preparation and development. Preparing administrative reports for management briefings. Provide professional and clerical advice, support and assistance to customers. Consults with staff/personnel on progress of corrective actions. Collaborates with Human Resources on personnel actions. Directs budget, management, staffing, supply, maintenance, facility, administration, logistics, and other services. Conduct analytical studies on operational processes, issue topics, or special projects. Responsible for aspects of Space Management for assigned facilities. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of GS-09 level specialized experience directly related to the work of the position and education beyond a master's degree may be used to qualify.
