ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
What you'd do
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Integrated Logistics and Lifecycle Support Branch, Ocean Engineering Department, of PSNS and IMF.
Major duties
You will translate operations, maintenance standards, and trouble-shooting procedures into comprehensive technical publications. You will provide technical recommendations and evaluate department requests for modification of technical manuals and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products. You will interpret technical engineer drawings and translate operations into detailed step-by-step instructions for carrying out tasks, methods, and procedures. You will attend product testing events to translate the operations (e.g., maintenance standards, troubleshooting procedures) into comprehensive technical publications You will work with others to independently and collaboratively make decisions and execute and/or direct actions in order to explore, reconcile, or resolve major uncertainties, unique situations, and obscure problems
What you need to qualify
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering services including job planning, material research and procurement, or developing technical instructions for ship or submarine system repair, overhaul or maintenance projects. FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering services including analyzing work flow, material procurement, and technical instructions to identify issues and develop or modify work methods or procedures for ship or submarine system repair, overhaul, or maintenance projects.
