About the Position: This position is located at Minot Air Force Base, in North Dakota. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Major duties

Manage preventive maintenance, repair, and construction work to sustain safe and reliable operation of the clinic, equipment, and utilities consistent with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards. Perform diagnostic inspection of facility structures, related electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and prepares necessary inspection reports and narrative assessments of facility conditions. Use automated systems to retrieve, maintain, and update documents and records. Oversee facility management resources including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, space utilization, and information resources. Compile data in the development of contracts and statements of work specifications based on state and federal laws, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accreditation standards for health care facilities. Support institutional preparation for emergency and disaster response by developing plans for building, equipment, and utility recovery. Coordinate with other base organizations and various federal state and local officials to evaluate policies, procedures, and actual maintenance and repair activities and makes changes necessary for improvement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Qualifications for the GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the coordination of facility maintenance schedules, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, and using automated systems to maintain and update facility records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
