Major duties
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Department of Athletics, anticipates filling the TERM full-time position of Advanced PE Instructor (Assistant Women's Basketball). This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 5 years. Extensions and/or Subsequent re-appointments may be considered based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability. Major Duties of the Position: Position will perform faculty duties in the Department of Athletics, United States Air Force Academy. Will teach undergraduate courses in Physical Education, manage and instruct competitive athletic programs, perform assigned departmental duties, promote professional activities in area of athletic specialization; and participate in course and curriculum development. Position will include coaching duties for the women's basketball program.
What you need to qualify
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree and demonstrated experience and proficiency in the field of specialization - Basketball, at the NCAA Division I level. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates will be those that have demonstrated currency and excellence in college-level Physical Education instruction, teaching and administration. Experience coaching and teaching a sports programs associated with any Military Service Academies is desired. Essential qualities expected of every faculty member include the personal attributes of integrity, industry, cooperation, initiative, and organizational management. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
