What you'd do
Serves as Principal Facility Coordinator for PCMM in Primary Care at Atlanta VA Medical Center, handling complex administrative tasks such as program planning, evaluating operations, training management, correspondence oversight, liaison duties, special project coordination, and supporting boards/committees in a complex clinical setting.
Major duties
The responsibilities for this position closely match those described at the target level. Work assignments are structured to help the incumbent develop the full range of skills and responsibilities needed for optimal performance. As the incumbent gains experience and demonstrates competency, they are expected to make more independent judgments and decisions. Patient Centered Management Module (PCMM): Duties include working closely with PCMM Coordinators and programs, serving as the Principal Facility Coordinator for the service and Medical Center, certifying PCMM application users, and ensuring competency. The role also involves maximizing clinic efficiency through optimal resource utilization. Supervision & Complexity: The position operates under immediate supervisors, but subordinate groups differ in subject matter, functions, and relationships with other organizations. This creates substantial administrative demands, requiring formal procedures, controls, and coordination across complex divisions. Analytical & Evaluative Work: The incumbent performs a wide range of analytical and evaluative tasks, focusing on the efficiency and effectiveness of Primary Care operations. This includes studies and issues handled by both administrative and professional staff, often starting at a lower skill level and progressing to more advanced abilities. Information Systems & Support: The incumbent supports management information system data gathering, analysis, validation, and presentation. They act as a resource for clinical staff, assisting with troubleshooting of DHCP, VISTA, and PCMM software applications related to Primary Care Clinic Treatment.
What you need to qualify
Applicants who qualify for positions at higher grade levels (generally grade GS-7 and above) must meet the requirements shown below, in addition to meeting the basic requirements. GS-9: 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree. GS-11: 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience qualify for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields, a typical college degree would have included courses that involved analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, etc. These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. Therefore, creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of PCMM and panel management.
