About the Position: This position will be located in the Provost Marshall Office at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Major duties

Provide administrative employees with the appropriate packet and ensure they complete and sign authorizing initiation of the criminal history background check (CHBC). Establish a suspense roster and notify employees 90 days prior to the expiration of the current (CHBC). Responsible for the operation of the Madigan Health Care System (MHCS) badge operation and installation vehicle registration programs. Perform administrative tasks to include but not limited to: files maintenance, data base maintenance, services credit card holder, report generation, Defense Medical Human Resources System Must be able to utilize personal and networking computer systems to create, update, structure, format, sequence, rearrange, store, recall, and to control data, records, and information. Set up and maintain office files for Military Police Reports, items of correspondence, general office reports, regulations, manuals, and bulletins.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using office automation systems; providing customer service; performing administrative and clerical support for a security program such as: preparing or maintaining security files/records, entering data for access badge card or installation vehicle registration programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Reading Comprehension Self-Management Stress Tolerance Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
