About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located at the Losano Fitness Center in Del Rio, TX. This position is Regular Part Time (RPT), guaranteed 20 hours a week with potential of a maximum of 35 hours per week. You may be required to work nights, holiday and weekends. RPT employees are eligible to earn annual and sick leave as well as benefits including Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement.

Major duties

Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the day-to-day operations of Losano Fitness Center. Serves as a day, evening and weekend shift leader, ensuring scheduled personnel are trained and adhere to facility and personnel policies, standards and directs and ensures satisfactory completion of work assignments. Intervenes in disputes with customers and staff or other staff members and ensures customer friendly work environment. Assists Facility manager in HAZMAT and all safety training as well as FPCON and TFAT training. Performs administrative functions to support daily tasks and requirements to include time sheets, daily headcounts, assigning cleaning tasks, and facility reservations. Acts as a WGM for computer problems, which may arise at night and on weekends (computers, CAC readers/ scanners, 24/7 access program, Etc.) Ensures cleanliness of in-door and out-door facilities and safety. Assist with all daily checklists, launders towels and uniforms as well as daily cleaning tasks. Ensures only authorized patrons use the facilities and equipment. Greets visitors, answers telephones, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Provides assistance and basic instructions to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues sports equipment and complete required documentation for transaction. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Performs scheduled and unscheduled equipment inventories and ensures accountability. Performs facility and grounds inspections as instructed in accordance with Air Force guidelines. Inspects all equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor and Repair Tech. Operates point of sale system; receives payment and issues change for service. Prepares cashier reports and makes daily deposits to the central cashier. Performs opening and closing procedures of the facility in accordance with written guidelines. Assists in setting up facilities, grounds, and equipment for programs and special functions. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical Must be able to read, speak and write English and communicate effectively with patrons. Must possess good customer service skills in dealing with the public. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
