About the Position: Serves as an Engineering Technician at the Military Ocean Terminal Concord (MOTCO) to include subordinate unit, the 834th Transportation Battalion located in Concord CA
Major duties
Programs construction costs for future Military Construction Army (MCA) projects involving six-year planning and programming. Interact with design and contracting agencies to provide state of the art facilities and systems. Ensure that all completed project designs conform to established United States Corp of Engineers guidelines and standards. Authorize total payment for all project designs and programs prepared by government agencies and private contractors. Perform on-site inspections with real estate representatives to determine fair market value.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Applying technical engineering techniques such as civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical engineering. 2. Conducting meetings and briefings with senior representatives. 3. Monitoring planning and design work which encompasses a number of components of project work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). OR Education Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. [At least 6 of the 24 semester hours must have been in drafting if the position has been designated by a drafting area of specialization.] OR Combination of Education and Experience A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Learning Reading Comprehension Reasoning Self-Management Stress Tolerance Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
