Major duties

Advise management on the effective use of personnel and guide/manage all joint reserve programs spanning readiness, retention, assignments and promotions as well as others. Develop and maintain military manpower and HR programs to improve joint forces efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance. Develop project plans and independently execute assignments while advising management to improve DISA/WPSB efficiency. Recommend allocation of military billets and staffing for subordinate organizations based on required operational skills. Provide statistical reports on program trends to directors, suggest operational improvements, and execute special projects.

What you need to qualify

For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service Specialized experience for GS-09 is defined as: Experience as providing administrative support for a variety of staff assignments in various Guard and Reserve military human resources program areas such as managing reserve billets, staff promotions, and joint duty verifications Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-07 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks on a permanent competitive appointment may be considered. For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-09 if outside the Federal service Specialized experience for GS-11 is defined as: Experience providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military personnel management programs for Guard and Reserve personnel, along with implementing directives, regulations and other guidelines that apply to the military human resources programs. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-09 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks on a permanent competitive appointment may be considered. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
