What you'd do

About the position: This position will be assigned to the 811 Force Support Squadron at the Pentagon. The primary purpose of this position is to perform over-the-counter sales, selling a variety of tickets and merchandise.

Major duties

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of merchandise which may include but is not limited to the following: jewelry, footwear, clothing, photographic equipment, sportswear, novelty gifts, and other miscellaneous items. Explains use of various products and answers questions concerning various aspects of products. Records sales, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise. Prices merchandise according to pricing guides, replenishes stock as required, and assists with inventories. Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in clerical, office, cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register. Ability to read, speak, and write English and possess skill in dealing with the public.
