HEALTH TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32)
What you'd do
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1724000 and is part of the TN 164th AW, Air National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.
Major duties
As a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-08, you will develop plans, procedures, goals and objectives in support of the Aerospace Medicine and Force Health Management Programs using an extensive knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD), Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA), United States Air Force (USAF) and Air National Guard (ANG) directives, policies and standards. Implement and maintain the information management systems utilized for aerospace medicine and force health protection programs. Administer the Physical Examinations and Standards (PES) program and serves as a medical expert on related issues. Manage the Reserve Component Periodic Health Assessment (RCPHA) program. Review military unique individual readiness requirements. Act as the Medical Group customer service expert. Address complex issues using independent judgment. Monitor the medical status of military personnel. Identify and profile personnel with medical conditions impacting duty performance or assignment restriction. Determine the need for and initiates Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) actions for duty related medical conditions. Determine the need for and initiates worldwide duty evaluations for non-duty related actions. Administer policies and develop procedures for the flight medicine and grounding management programs, which directly affect flying safety and mission readiness. Manage administrative and automated orders system. Prepare, revoke, amend, reproduce, and distribute logs and maintain orders for all Medical Group personnel. Provide prescreening for medical/dental/mental health and evaluation of personnel eligibility for deployment. Administer the medical records program and acts as the medical records custodian. Must possess a working knowledge of other DOD component medical requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify
Military Grades: E-3 through E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 4A000 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience in medical administration, customer service, reviewing medical tests and examinations, achieving and maintaining Force Health Protection through planning, evaluating, and management principles related to epidemiological, operational, and occupational and public health programs. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year at the next lower GS level or 12 months experience and knowledge of DOD, OSHA, Military Health Services Systems, USAF, ANG, Federal, state, and local policies and directives to administer medical unit programs; knowledge of aerospace medicine in order to administer the related programs of occupational/physical examinations and flight medicine to ensure personnel readiness and mission effectiveness.
