Frequently Asked Questions
USA Jobs Site is a platform that aggregates government job listings. We provide a user-friendly interface to search, filter, and apply for government positions across the United States.
You can search for jobs using the search bar at the top of the homepage. Enter keywords related to job titles, departments, agencies, or occupations. You can also filter by location and use the state dropdown to find jobs in specific states. Additionally, our sidebar filters allow you to narrow down results by hiring path, department, position type, and more.
We source our listings directly from the US government, which includes most federal government positions. However, some specialized agencies or positions might not be included. For the most comprehensive search, we recommend checking both our platform and the official USAJOBS website.
When you find a job you're interested in, click on the job title to view the full details. On the job detail page, you'll find an "Apply Now" button that will redirect you to the official application page. The application process is handled by the hiring agency, not by USA Jobs.
Remote jobs are positions that allow you to work from a location other than the official duty station, such as your home. Our platform has a dedicated tab for remote jobs to make them easier to find. Look for the "Remote Jobs" tab in the search results.
Our job listings are updated regularly. New positions are added as they become available, and closed positions are removed. We recommend checking back frequently if you're actively job hunting.
Requirements vary by position, but most federal job applications require a resume, contact information, work history, education details, and references. Some positions may require additional documents like transcripts, certifications, or a DD-214 for veterans. Check the "Required Documents" section on each job listing for specific requirements.
You can use the salary range filter in the sidebar to set minimum and maximum salary thresholds. This will help you find positions within your desired compensation range.
No, USA Jobs is not affiliated with the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) or any other government agency. We are an independent service designed to improve access to government job listings by providing a more user-friendly interface.
Most federal jobs require U.S. citizenship. However, some positions may be open to non-citizens, particularly if you are a permanent resident or have special skills. Look for the "Who May Apply" section in job listings for eligibility requirements.
