GENERAL ENGINEER
What you'd do
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Fleet Support Team (FST) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Major duties
You will serve as F/A-18A-F and EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) Leader at the FRCSW, heading a large and diverse team of engineers, scientists, technicians, logisticians, and Business Financial Managers. You will serve as final authority on planning, review, and evaluation of work and be fully responsible and accountable for the execution, and effectiveness, of the in-service support program. You will direct trade studies and continuous process improvement initiatives to identify and evaluate alternative technical approaches and assess process efficiencies to resolve issues. You will develop program planning objectives and management strategies for current and long-range (5 to 10 year) program tasks. You will evaluate the impact of fluctuations in resource levels such as budget changes, and updates to estimates of resource requirements due to new or revised objectives, technical capabilities, acquisition strategies, etc. You will direct the development of contract engineering specifications, which define support requirements and parameters, and direct the development of Procurement Requests, Request for Proposals, etc. You will measure progress toward, and determine the soundness of objectives in established projects and define needs and develop objectives and resource requirements for new projects.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-14) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes: 1) Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the core in-service logistics and engineering products and services produced by a Fleet Support Team; 2) Displaying the ability to effectively operate within a command's financial system; 3) Managing financial and personnel resources for a large multidisciplinary team; 4) Managing assigned program to assure products and services are delivered on schedule, within budgeted cost, and performed according to documented technical requirements; 5) Resolving issues affecting achievement of technical performance that impact schedule or cost.
