What you'd do

You will serve as an ACOUSTICS ENGINEER in the ACOUSTIC OPERATIONS TEST & ANALYSIS BRANCH of the UNDERSEA SYSTEMS ACQUISITION & ASSESSMENT DIVISION in the TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

Major duties

You will provide expert level guidance in the application of underwater acoustics testing, and test and measurement sciences. You will work with senior leadership to ensure appropriate specifications are developed and testing is performed in accordance with the current best practices to support acquisition program development, research and development, and production. You will develop and maintain an understanding of underwater acoustic testing technology and functional testing technology through close contact with research and development laboratories, manufactures, scientists, and academia. You will regularly mentor both engineers and technicians in support of underwater acoustics testing and measurement sciences. You will conduct regular technical training discussions and ensure technical work is performed to the latest industry standards and latest policy or performance specifications. You will proactively engage in the department's investment program.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer analyzing a modernization program for acoustic test facilities for an organization.
