Major duties
As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner and Technical Team Lead, you will: Plan, coordinate, and monitor Commercial and Retail Credit supervisory activities. Assess risks, develop supervisory strategies, determine the scope of examination activities, and direct assigned personnel. Independently evaluate the effectiveness of Commercial and Retail Credit functions, identify systemic risks, and trends and recommend changes to examination policies and procedures. Lead examination staff in discussions with senior bank management regarding findings and recommendations. Prepare complex communications to senior bank management. Maintain effective internal OCC communications, ensuring appropriate coordination and follow-up. Represent the OCC at industry and interagency meetings. Supervise assigned staff and direct the resources necessary to carry out assigned programs and functions. Establish and communicate performance expectations and evaluate performance against OCC guidelines. Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, and adverse actions, etc. Resolve complaints, provide advice and counsel regarding administrative matters. Participate in Shared National Credit reviews, serving as a team lead or voting member. Engage actively in the Commercial Credit Networking Group. Safeguard agency equipment, sensitive data, and material resources. Manage commercial credit activities, including commercial and industrial, real estate, and small business lending products. Oversee leveraged lending, portfolio valuation, and stress testing within the financial institution. Manage retail credit activities, including consumer lending products such as mortgages, auto loans, student loans, credit cards, and HELOCs. Oversee consumer loan underwriting, portfolio management, collections, credit line management, and credit risk control systems.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service. To qualify for the NB-VI.2 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: - Leading financial institution audits, reviews, or examinations to identify, manage, and remediate organizational risks; - Assessing financial institution compliance with applicable federal banking laws and regulations; AND - Leading and developing bank examiners during bank supervision and oversight activities. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
